The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been in the Twin Cities in some incarnation for nearly 25 years. It's latest incarnation, Transvestite Soup, only spans about 8 of these years, or so, and in fact, Transvestite Soup hasn't just been at the Riverview Theater, but also at the Columbia Heights Theater.
Please check out our gallery for collection of rather historic photos from the '80s at the Uptown, before the old cast was even known as Midnight Madness. Back in these days, the Rocky Horror Picture Show was a vastly different creature, because rules, like cast names, hadn't come into use yet.
April 5, 2008 marked the end of almost ten years of Rocky Horror with Transvestite Soup at the Riverview Theater in Minneapolis. The cast played to an almost sell-out crowd of over 600 people including a number of alumni. Loren from the Riverview gifted Rockymom with a theater seat from the front row. Thank you to the Riverview and everyone who attended Transvestite Soup shows there, may we find a new home soon.
